About the event
This past Saturday, our team at Bakes4Good had the honor of visiting the SPCA Westchester. We arrived at noon, carrying with us four overflowing piles of carpets, towels, and blankets, which were donated by our wonderful community. We were equally proud to present a donation of $200 to the organization: $146 from our May bake sale, joined by a generous $54 gift from Chenyu's sister, Selena.
Stepping inside, we were immediately struck by the atmosphere of the shelter. Mark, a devoted volunteer, greeted us brightly at the entrance, sharing the daily rhythms of life at the SPCA. As he and another staff member of their team, guided us through the cat and dog rooms, I found myself observing the animals not just as pets, but as members of a society that nurtured and carefully rebuilt the bond between humans and animals.
